Scott's photographs have been published widely including in Life magazine, Time magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New York Post, The Village Voice, The New York Daily News, Time Out New York and USA Today. He had a fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center, and was honored for creating a documentary image of the year by American Photo magazine in 2006. Scott has photographed extensively for several NGOs including Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans, and the Worldwide Orphans Foundation.

Scott is a teacher at the International Center for Photography. He is a member of the the College Art Association, the National Press Photographers Association, the Photographic Resource Center and the Society for Photographic Education.

He r
eceived his MFA from The Art Institute of Boston in the fall of 2007. He studied music and theatre at The Interlochen Arts Academy and New York University. He has studied with Arno Minkkinen, Alex Webb, Albert Maysles, Christopher James, Eikoh Hosoe, and Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist David Turnley at various institutions including the International Center for Photography (ICP), Maine Photographic Workshops/Rockport College, Toscana Photographic Workshops (TPW), and the Santa Fe Workshops.

Scott lives in New York City.
